The push to run universities like businesses hasn’t delivered what staff or students need, and it’s clear that change is afoot! As that shift happens, unions must help shape what comes next, not just respond after decisions are made.

I’m nominating for the Branch Committee because I want a workplace built on respect, fair workloads and collegiality. Across my roles, I see how rising demands and unclear structures affect staff, and I’m committed to helping improve these conditions.

My focus is practical: clearer governance, realistic workloads, secure jobs, and a culture where staff voices genuinely shape decisions. I’m committed to steady, constructive advocacy that strengthens conditions for everyone. Recent shifts have highlighted inconsistencies affecting all staff; aligning governance with policy is essential to restoring the USYD community. NTEU Renewal: For a good university, we need a strong union, and a strong union needs engaged members.

Vote NTEU Renewal.

For Secretary, vote Rebecca Connell.
